THE CONTEST

Every day, employees and volunteers at GBMC provide compassionate care for patients who have breast cancer. Inspired by their strength, we designed a video to help share the emotional experience of being diagnosed with and overcoming breast cancer from the patient's perspective.

As our patient meets with her doctor to learn the news, tells her family, has surgery, goes through infusion therapy and ultimately rings the bell to signify being cancer-free, she encounters dozens of supporters. They are family members, friends, caregivers and other hospital employees, fellow patients, breast cancer survivors and even complete strangers, all offering overwhelming encouragement and love.

We hope that The Pink Glove Dance Contest can use our video to continue raising awareness of breast cancer, increasing education about the disease and generating more support for all of the brave women and men affected by it.

This national contest is sponsored by Medline Industries, makers of the pink gloves. The winning video receives a prize of up to $15,000 for the charity of their choice. We have chosen The Red Devils of Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 2002, The Red Devils is a 501 (c) (3) organization whose mission is to fund services that improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.
